At the 2010 census, the population of the city was 8,197. The city is the county seat of Marshall County. Guntersville is located in a HUBZone as identified by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The 2014 Bassmaster Classic was held on Lake Guntersville, which is part of Guntersville. ==Geography== Guntersville is located at (34.348197, −86.294523). According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , of which is land and , or 40.14%, is water. Guntersville is located at the southernmost point of the Tennessee River on Lake Guntersville, formed by the Guntersville Dam (built by the Tennessee Valley Authority).
